Lobito, June 07, 2024 – In yet another commitment to social responsibility, the School Lunch program has reached the impressive mark of 100,256,249 meals distributed since its launch on January 21, 2021, in the province of Huambo. This achievement reaffirms the impact of the program in improving nutrition and school attendance for thousands of Angolan children.
Currently, the program distributes 291,340 meals daily in 511 schools in 10 provinces of Angola, ensuring that primary school children receive a nutritious meal, contributing not only to their physical development, but also to school performance.
In addition to the educational and social impact, the program has played an important role in the local economy, generating 60 direct jobs and 1,553 indirect jobs so far, demonstrating a commitment to the sustainable development of communities.
This milestone of 100 million lunches is a clear example of our commitment to improving the living conditions of Angolan children and the development of communities. We will continue to expand this program to benefit even more children across the country.
