Lobito, June 07, 2024 – In yet another commitment to social responsibility, the School Lunch program has reached the impressive mark of 100,256,249 meals distributed since its launch on January 21, 2021, in the province of Huambo. This achievement reaffirms the impact of the program in improving nutrition and school attendance for thousands of Angolan children.
Currently, the School Lunch program distributes 291,340 meals daily in 511 schools in 10 provinces of Angola. In this way, we ensure that primary school children receive a nutritious meal, which contributes to both their physical development and their school performance.
In addition to the educational and social impact, the program has played a relevant role in the local economy. So far, 60 direct jobs and 1,553 indirect jobs have been generated, demonstrating a strong commitment to the sustainable development of communities.
Above all, this milestone of 100 million meals is a clear example of our commitment to improving the living conditions of Angolan children and the development of communities. Thus, we commit to continue expanding this program to benefit even more children across the country.
