The Carrinho Group is a candidate for the acquisition of 48.1% of the share capital of Banco de Fomento Angolano put up for sale by BPI, the second largest shareholder of the banking institution.
In the second stage of negotiations, the country’s largest agro-industrial group presented a proposal that meets BPI’s intention to sell this asset for a minimum amount of 411 million euros.
Also applying for the acquisition of BPI’s stake in BFA is the UK-based fund manager, Gemcorp. The two candidates have their proposals validated by the National Bank of Angola and must submit the final purchase offers by the end of July, the month in which the winner will be known.
