Since 2004, he has held the position of CEO and under his leadership, Grupo Cart stands out for its innovative culture, commitment to employee development and continuous search for opportunities for expansion and diversification, always focusing on sustainability and positive impact on society.

Since 2005, Rui has served as Deputy CEO and has also served as Chief Operating Officer, assisting the CEO in defining strategies that have transformed small catering operations into large enterprises. His leadership has been crucial to the growth and success of Grupo Cart.

Multilingual senior executive with extensive experience in international business management, graduated in Economics from the University of Porto, with an MBA in International Finance and a Master's Degree in Finance from Faculdade Portucalense. He has worked in several positions at the Amorim Group, including International CFO of Amorim & Irmãos SA. At the Semapa Group, he served as CFO in the Lebanon operation and as Deputy-CEO in the Tunisia operation. At Dangote Cement Plc, he was CFO in Senegal and CEO in Zambia. More recently, at Volvo, he was CEO of the operation in Mozambique.

He specialized in Business Management and International Business, having started his career in the Finance, Purchasing and Information Systems Department, then moving to the General Management where he acquired extensive professional experience in Industry (10 years). He then migrated to Retail, where he was CEO for more than 10 years, managing more than 100 points of sale in a multicultural environment.

He specialized in the design of food industry units, where he obtained his experience in the management of industrial processes. He later graduated with a degree in Industrial Operations Management and Supply Chain Management. He held various positions of leadership and management of engineering and maintenance of food industry factories, until he reached the general management and administration of industrial companies.

Specialized in Agronomy from the Agrarian School of Bragança, in Portugal, and Master in Business Management. He worked for 15 years at Universal Leaf, starting his career as a development agronomist, moving on to division and production manager for agricultural areas and the family sector, reaching the status of Vice President of production operations in Asia. He is recruited by Phillipe Morris International where he worked as Regional Director of Agronomy in Asia based in the Philippines, where after 3 years he is transferred to Brazil where he manages the largest project of mechanization and tobacco production and rotation of various crops, in the Northeast area. Allied to this path there is also extensive experience in the implementation of socio-environmental responsibility projects.

From 2006 to 2008 he began his career, holding the position of Legal Controller at the Portuguese company Onyway Telecomunicações S.A. In 2009 he embraced a new challenge as Coordinator of the Legal Department of Marchand Consultoria Jurídica Lda. Between 2018 and 2019, he held the position of Head of Compliance at the company Cart S.A., where he rose to the position of Administrative Director and later Secretary of the Executive Board, a function he holds to this day.
