Lobito, May 07, 2024 – As part of the growing trade relations between the United States and Africa, the U.S.-Africa Business Summit was held in Dallas, Texas, from May 6 to 8, bringing together important international statesmen and businessmen. Among those present, we highlight Nelson Carrinho, CEO of Grupo Carrinho, who participated as a guest.
During the event, Nelson Carrinho had the opportunity to meet with Amos J. Hochstein, Special Presidential Coordinator for Global Infrastructure and Energy Security of the United States. The meeting focused on evaluating the progress in the partnerships between Grupo Carrinho and the Partnership for Global Infrastructure (PGI), which have been working to strengthen family farming and improve logistics infrastructure along the Lobito Corridor.
This meeting reinforces Grupo Carrinho commitment to promoting Angola’s economic development through the implementation of robust logistics solutions and support for smallholder farmers, crucial factors for food self-sufficiency and sustainable growth in the country. Cooperation with PGI, one of the U.S. government’s key global development initiatives, demonstrates the commitment to transforming the agricultural and logistics sector in Angola.
